Below are links to pages I've put together, that explains the Mutations and Genetics of the birds I raise. I've written it out in easy to understand ways, and almost all the info can be used on any parrot with mutations, some species work a bit differently, but for the most part they all work the same.
The mutation pages have pictures when available to help understand the "color" more so than just a bunch of words on a page, I'm a visual learner, And I personally have some learning disabilities, with comprehending being one of them, So I chose to write these pages up, in ways that I was able to understand, grasp and wrap my head around how the genetics work, and I hope by doing so it's made it a lot easier for any novice bird owner, or newcomer breeder to understand how the mutations and genetics in our feathered friends work :)
Also on a side note, It will seem very overwhelming as there is a lot of information , but as you read keep in mind the person who wrote all this genetic info up that you are reading(me), pretty much failed science class all through school, and If I can understand it, You soon will be able to as well, I've had to go over it many times for it to sink in, but once it did it was like a light bulb went off in my head and I kept saying "Wow this stuff is simple!", how ever I still don't understand punnet squares at all and I do use different genetic calculators online(which I have links to under my links page) so I do "cheat" to find out what mutations I can expect from a certain pairing, but once you understand how certain mutations work, for example, Lutino, Albino, Opaline etc You'll have the hardest part beat and you'll be talking genetics with every one you know including non-bird people , just like I do, it'll just become a habit:-D
